Maysie Jane Kilgore
ACTOR / SINGER / POET / PERFORMER
Maysie Jane is a multidisciplinary artist— she is an actor, singer, poet, burlesque performer, and visual artist. She is extremely passionate about the links between art, humanity, and revolution; how these words are intertwined and how we can foster them in ourselves and our communities.
Maysie started performing in the guerrilla dance and theatre scene in her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. From the time she was about 4 years old, she was demanding to be put onstage. Luckily, the lovely artists that raised her did so in a community focused on collaborative creation, artistic and individual agency, and in tandem with anti-capitalist organizing. She spent her adolescence in private vocal lessons learning to trust her intuition, in dance classes figuring out how to collaborate and move outside of a box, on stages that showed her that artistic integrity is more important than a paycheck, and organizing protests within her community, artistic and otherwise.
By the time she moved to NYC in May of 2022, Maysie knew she wanted to make art that is weird; art that is queer; art that is slutty and messy and honest; art that challenges the socialization we are given and fosters the beauty of communal growth. Now based in Brooklyn, Maysie has been dedicating her time to developing new burlesque acts, auditioning for the campiest shows she can find, producing fundraisers for her friends in Palestine, and singing entirely too much karaoke.
She has spent the last three years performing consistently. She’s worked with emerging artists collectives like BoyzWithApple and The Organization With No Name, and done countless readings with Strange Girlzz. Maysie is a resident member of the Eleventh Hour Players, who perform Shakeseare as group work in bars.
She is a founding member and producer of Time Slip Rocky Horror Picture Show Shadowcast; the only consistently performing shadowcast in NYC that upholds the values of the queer community it is built upon by donating 100% of their proceeds from every show. She’s also made a home as Teeth!, the burlesque performer sweet enough to give you a cavity. Find her performing freaky, delicious, interactive pieces all over the city.

She firmly believes that hedonism is the meaning of life, and that art and revolution are inherently linked.
